Ear Cleaning for Cats

CLEAN - RENEW - PROTECT

Eye Envy Ear Cleaning Products for Cats will keep your kitty’s ears clean and healthy. After ear mites, the biggest culprit of ear infections is excessive yeast or bacteria growth - just like the cause of tear stains in Exotic Shorthairs and Persians.

What breeds of cats are prone to ear infections?

Cats with smaller ears such as the Persian or Himalayan. A Persian cat’s unique and small ear structure, traps moisture and debris, making it easier for bacteria and yeast to grow, coupled with a tendency to produce more ear wax, creates a favourable environment for infections to develop.

Cats with unusual ear shapes such as the American Curl and Scottish Fold. Regular ear cleaning is crucial for both these breeds to prevent infections. American Curl’s curled ears often have narrow ear canals, which can trap wax build up, creating a favourable environment for bacteria and yeast to grow, leading to infections. Scottish Fold’s folded ears trap wax and debris, also creating an environment where bacteria and yeast can easily grow.

Cats with large ears such as the Sphynx or Devon Rex. Sphynx cats have large ears, with little to no fur or ear tufts. This makes it likely they'll accumulate more dirt, oil, and ear wax than cats that do have fur, which can cause secondary yeast and bacterial ear infections. Because of the nature of its coat, the Devon Rex cat can be prone to yeast infections of the skin that can cause ear problems. Its ears can get greasy and it too has large ears that can trap moisture and debris.
